59 days. 1 month and 28 days. 84,960 minutes. 5,097,600 seconds. Choose any one of these, and that will give you how long it’s been since I last published a blog post.
I promise I didn’t mean to go on another blogging break! I really didn’t. Over Christmas break, I was determined to make my Spring semester the best my blog had ever seen. I even had a ton of blog posts planned out in a beautiful Excel spreadsheet that I had worked super hard on. But once the semester got rolling, I barely had enough time to get my assignments done, much less enough time to blog. I just hadn’t realized how much time taking 15 hours of courses would really take out of my day. Not to even mention my two jobs. (Even though I only worked about 14 hours between both.) Needless to say, I had a lot on my plate.
Thankfully, I just handed in my last final at the end of April. (BEST. FEELING. EVER.) It’s crazy to think that I don’t have to work on assignments or papers or projects now. Now I have the entire summer ahead of me to blog!
So before I start back with the regular posts, I thought I’d do a life updates post to bring you all up to speed on a few things. Especially since I’ve been keeping some pretty big news from you all…
I’ve Been Accepted to the Disney College Program!
For those of you who don’t know, the Disney College Program (DCP) is a semester-long program for college students at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. I learned about the program when I was 14 years old, and ever since then participating in it has been a dream of mine. After years of waiting, that dream has finally come true! I’ll be arriving in August as an attractions cast member, and I’ve already met some amazing girls who will (hopefully) be my roommates on the program. I’ll be writing an entire post about my application and my acceptance story soon, so I’ll link it here when it’s published.
So What Does the DCP Mean for the Blog?
I will be working full-time and (hopefully) taking a class or two while I’m participating in the DCP, so I’m not sure how often I’ll be posting on the blog. Over the next few months I’ll be writing some back-up posts for the weeks when I won’t have time to write anything, and I’ll hopefully have some Disney and DCP-related posts while I’m down there. I’m not expecting to be writing too much though, because instead…
I’m Vlogging my DCP
Ever since I found out about the DCP, I’ve been obsessed with the vlogs the participants do. It just seems like such an amazing and unique way to capture all the memories created while on the program, and they are so fun to watch, as well. That’s why I’ve decided to take the plunge and vlog my program, as well! Even though I know it will be completely unlike anything I’ve ever done before (I’m quite terrified, to be honest), I feel like it will be so rewarding to do. My first video will be up soon, but you can go ahead and subscribe to my channel here. (And let me know if you have a channel too!)
I’ll also announce my first video on my Instagram, so just click here to follow me. 🙂
So I know this has been a super-short post and there is honestly a TON more stuff I could talk to you all about, but I think it’s better to keep it short and sweet. 🙂 Plus, I want to hear back from you all! Have you done the Disney College Program before? Or do you have any recommendations for things to do while I’m in Florida? Let me know down below!
